We're a family-owned and operated outdoor retail business and we hope to be the biggest little store on the internet. We started Chinook Outfitters because the outdoors is our passion. Whether it's hiking the Rockies, dragging up halibut in the PNW, fishing trout streams in Montana, Snook in Florida, sailing the San Juan islands, or camping in the desert, we've been there and enjoy all of it. We chose the name "Chinook Outfitters" because two of our favorite things are the mighty Chinook Salmon and the equally mighty Chinook Winds.

We also believe that the best way to protect the outdoors, and our oceans, is by enabling people to experience those special parts of the world. Good gear helps. It's impossible to disregard the ocean after fighting (and safely releasing) a Tyee salmon, or experiencing a sunset 20 miles out from anywhere. We hope that, as Chinook Outfitters evolves, it will be able to follow the footsteps of Patagonia and other stewards of the wild by enabling people to get outside with quality equipment while also serving the environment.

And finally, but most importantly, we are here to help our customers. we are proud Authorized Retailers for every brand we carry, including Garmin, Victron Energy, and Blue Sea Systems. This means that while we manage the business from our office in Texas, your products ship directly from our partner warehouses and manufacturers across the USA to ensure the fastest possible shipping times. All products are backed by the full manufacturer's warranty. Our team has spent countless hours with the gear we sell and understands what makes being on the ocean or in the mountains special. They will look to give you the best experience possible. If you need an $8000 windlass, they will recommend it. If you can get by with $50 waders, those are the ones for you. We aim to be the biggest local shop on the internet, and provide our customers with uncommonly good service whether you are heading out for a weekend hike or a month-long maritime expedition.
